Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps deputy commander Hossein Salami doesn’t appear to have gotten the memo. Obama said just two days before Salami made these remarks: “When Iran agrees to accept constraints on its nuclear program, that enhances global security and enhances Iran’s ability to work with other nations.” Salami doesn’t seem interested in working with other nations at all, but only in threatening them. Obama, of course, has had nothing to say about Iran’s continued saber-rattling.
“IRGC Deputy Commander Salami: We Have a ‘Jungle’ of Missiles Ready to Be Launched at Any Enemy Far Away,” MEMRI, September 22, 2016:
IRGC Deputy Commander Hossein Salami said that Iran’s drone technology was “at the forefront” of the field and was on a par with that of America, Russia, and China. Speaking in a Channel 2 TV on September 22, Salami said that Iran’s “jungle” of missiles was “kept in tunnels, silos, and special headquarters” and that they were “ready to be launched in any direction and toward any target we wish.”
Following are excerpts
Hossein Salami: “Today, our drone technology, which is very complex and advanced, is at the forefront of this field worldwide. In this, we are on a par with superpowers like America, Russia, and China.”
“We are capable of mass producing high-precision missiles and using them. That way, we will be able to threaten the vital interests of the enemies far away.”
“The depots of our army are full of missiles. We have a whole ‘jungle’ of missiles in our country, kept in tunnels, silos, and special headquarters. Indeed they are ready to be launched in any direction and toward any target we wish.”
“We are able to threaten the vital interests of any enemy, on any scale and everywhere.”
